Requiem Laus - Last Winter

Os Portugueses Requiem Laus têm-se mostrado bastante ativos nesta última década no que a lançamentos diz respeito. Neste momento estão em estúdio a preparar o seu próximo lançamento “Hate & Despair”, sucessor do belíssimo EP “Last Winter”. Após uma intro “chuvosa” temos a faixa título que, para além de transmitir uma enorme carga emocional, musicalmente revela-se bem equilibrada entre o death/doom melódico e os solos escalados para além da parte narrada que confere ainda maior angústia à mensagem. Essa combinação de elementos continua em “Perception” e “Through Aeons”, intercaladas por uma acústica “Starvation”, encerrando com “Spell Under Dreams”, terminada a tempestade. Mais um muito bom trabalho de uma banda inconformada e resiliente, cuja perseverança revela bons frutos.

Portuguese Requiem Laus have shown themselves to be quite productive over this last decade regarding new releases. They are now on studio preparing their next release “Hate & Despair”, successor for the beautiful EP “Last Winter”. After a “rainy” intro we get to the title track that apart transmitting an enormous emotional charge, musically it reveals to be well balanced between the melodic death/doom and the scaled solos besides the narrated part that points out even more the anguish of the message. That combination of elements continues in “Perception” and “Through Aeons” interleaved by an acoustic “Starvation”, closing with “Spell Under Dreams” after the storm has ended. Another very good work of an non conformist and resilient band whose perseverance reveals good results.
