Hellavista Asocial Club - Robolution

Os Austríacos Hellavista apresentam “Robolution”, trabalho de estreia recentemente lançado pela Espanhola Art Gates Records. Oriundos na sua maioria da extinta banda death/thrash Austríaca Freund Hein tocam uma curiosa fusão de death, thrash e groove; sendo essencialmente uma banda thrash conseguem misturar as suas influências para formarem canções alegres, divertidas e bastante apelativas ao ouvido, com solos eletrizantes e passagens cativantes. Sem deslumbrar mas ao mesmo apresentando argumentos convincentes, rapidamente damos por nós envolvidos numa louca viagem musical acompanhada por cómicas letras relacionadas com ficção científica; a começar pela homónima “Robolution” a debitar thrash/groove de forma mais compassada, entramos depois no speed thrash/death de “Hellevator” com um ritmo contagiante e solo demolidor, uma das melhores faixas do álbum. Destaque para “Breed of Evil” que vai buscar inspiração ao death melódico que praticavam, numa faixa bem equilibrada em termos de peso, melodia e groove; outro bom solo e [talvez] a melhor faixa de todas. Também merecedoras de nota, as faixas “Attack of the Demons” e “Screwdriving Away”, com uma curiosa mistura entre o thrash e o metal mais clássicos onde o som do teclado dá uma nuance diferente de inspiração mais revivalista. Esta viagem de 30 minutos acaba com um speed thrash na sua vertente mais punk em “Rest in Pain”, uma faixa rápida e com muito groove a terminar um álbum bem conseguido.

“Robolution” é um álbum divertido e que não cansa, onde os Hellavista aplicam muito bem a sua experiência musical conseguindo dentro de um subgénero que por vezes se mostra saturado mostrar que, mesmo sem inovar, há espaço para diversificar.

Austrians Hellavista present “Robolution”, debut album recently released by Spanish label Art Gates Records. Originating mostly from the extinct death/thrash Austrian band Freund Hein, they play a curious fusion of death, thrash and groove; being mainly a thrash band they can mix their influences to create cheerful songs, funny and very ear catchy with electrifying solos and gripping passages. Without dazzling but at the same time presenting convincing arguments, we soon find ourselves wrapped in a wild musical trip accompanied by funny lyrics science fiction related; starting with the homonimous “Robolution” rattling off thrash/groove in a paced way we afterwords enter the speed thrash/death “Hellevator” with a contagious rhythm and demolishing solo, one of the album’s best tracks. Highlight for “Breed of Evil” that gets inspiration from the melodic death they played, a song well balanced regarding weight, melody and groove; another good solo and [probably] best track. Also worth mentioning the tracks “Attack of the Demons” and “Screwdriving Away” with a curious mixture of more classical thrash and metal where the sound of the keyboard gives a different nuance of revival inspiration. This 30 minutes journey ends with a speed thrash in its most punk variation in “Rest in Pain”, a fast track and with lots of groove ending a well done album.

“Robolution” is a funny album which doesn’t tire where Hellavista apply really well their musical experience being able to show that, even in a sub-genre that sometimes shows itself saturated, there is room to diversify even without innovating.
