Em relação ao anterior, apresenta uma entrada mais intensa derivando depois para um power metal operático com forte presença de guitarras acompanhadas de teclados, dando uma atmosfera mais teatral à composição. \m/

Compared to the previous one, presents a more intense opening changing afterwards to an operatic power metal with strong guitar presence accompanied by keyboards, giving a more theatrical atmosphere to the composition. \m/
Chega aquela altura na vida das bandas em que têm de optar pelo que lançar a seguir. Essa questão apresentou-se aos Emerging Chaos, banda death/thrash do Barreiro, enquanto preparavam o sucessor do EP “The Decay of Mankind”. Em boa hora optaram pelo longa-duração, criando assim um registo que é um bom reflexo do seu som.
Tive oportunidade de ver a banda ao vivo no passado Lord Metal Fest, ficando com muito boa impressão. Pode-se caracterizar a sua sonoridade como sendo maioritariamente death/thrash numa vertente mais melódica mas nem por isso menos agressiva; aliás, nesse capítulo a voz gritada de Jim Gäddnäs faz bem a diferença, mantendo as músicas numa cadência constante ao longo do álbum. Composto por 9 faixas, “The Roots Of Lunacy” mantém uma linearidade musical coesa mas não repetitiva, com um lirismo centrado nas ilusões sociais e suas consequências; devido à grande versatilidade e abrangência da temática (e fruto das diversas influências dos seus elementos), os Emerging Chaos aliam à já referida base musical riffs bem estruturados, passagens thrash old school mais diretas ou outras mais densas e misteriosas. “The Roots Of Lunacy” é um álbum de estreia bem conseguido, bem balanceado e com harmonia.

There comes the time in life when bands have to choose whether to release next. That question presented to Emerging Chaos, Barreiro’s death/thrash metal band, while preparing the successor for the EP “The Decay of Mankind”. In good time they’ve chosen an LP thus creating a record that it’s a good example of what their sound is.
I had the opportunity the see the band live last year at Lord Metal Fest and I got a good impression. We can describe their sonority as being mainly death/thrash with a more melodic approach but nevertheless less aggressive; in fact, regarding that subject Jim Gäddnäs’ screamed voice is very distinctive, keeping the musics in a consistent cadence throughout the entire album. With a total of 9 tracks, “The Roots Of Lunacy” keeps a cohesive musical linearity yet non repetitive, with lyrics focusing on social illusions and their consequences; due to the vaste versatility and coverage of the topic (and as a result of band members diverse influences), Emerging Chaos add to the above mentioned musical base well structured riffs, some old school thrash passages or others more dense and mysterious. “The Roots Of Lunacy” is a well achieved debut album, well balanced and with harmony.
