Magic Dance - New Eyes

Depois dos últimos trabalhos lançados, a banda Magic Dance traz-nos agora o album “New Eyes” com 10 novas faixas; sendo este um projeto do autor Jon Siejka que aqui está acompanhado de Jack Simchak e Tim Mackey nas guitarras, Mike Peniston e Kevin Krug no baixo e Kevin McAdams na bateria.

O que dizer deste álbum? É muito melódico e cativante, tem alegres riffs de guitarra que soam bastante harmónicos e de vez em quando temos ali uns grandes solos. A batida faz lembrar as velhinhas canções de hard rock dos anos oitenta, com aquelas melodias de sintetizador. Ao nível de vocalização, a mesma é bastante agradável ao ouvido, não nego que há espaço para melhoria mas no balanço final coaduna-se com a melodia e as líricas das canções que têm refrões fáceis de memorizar. Gostei especialmente da música “You’re Holding Back” cuja letra me diz muito e que tem uma melodia mais fresca, perfeita para a acompanharmos em dueto com o vocalista. Um álbum com um distinto som a rock melódico e alegre, sendo definitivamente um registo a adquirir por fãs do género. Se gostas de boa música em geral e com um ritmo mais rockeiro, também é de escutar, com a certeza que passarás uns bons momentos em alegre companhia.

After some releases the band Magic Dance brings us now a album “New Eyes” with 10 new tracks; being this a project of Jon Siejka here he’s accompanied by Jack Simchak and Tim Mackey on the guitars, Mike Peniston and Kevin Krug on the bass and Kevin McAdams on the drums.

What to say about this album? It’s very melodic and catchy, has some cheerful guitar riffs who sound very harmonic and now and then we have some pretty good solos. The beat makes us remind the old 80’s rock songs, with those synth melodies. Regarding vocals, they are very pleasant to the listener, yet I don’t deny there’s room to improvement but in the end it blends well with the melody as the lyrics have catchy choruses easy to memorize. I especially enjoyed the song “You’re Holding Back” whose lyrics meant a lot to me and the song has a fresher melody, perfect to be sang along with the vocalist. An album with a distinctive and joyful melodic rock sonority, it’s definitely a record to be acquired by fans. If you enjoy music in general and with a rocky pace this is also for you, you’ll certainly have a pleasant time listening to it in good company.
