A tour dos Mind Driller para promoção de “Involution” passou este Sábado pela sala Master Club (Vigo) e contou com a companhia dos Xeria e Prima Nocte. A Metal Em Portugal foi convidada a aparecer (desde já agradecemos à Mantícora Producciones o convite) por isso deixo-vos aqui a minha apreciação do evento.
A noite arrancou ao som dos Xeria, banda de metal sinfónico que lançou este Verão o seu álbum de estreia, “Tierra”. Clara oportunidade para o mostrarem ao público Viguense, aproveitaram para um dueto entre Marina Sweet e Icko Viqueira (Aquelarre) com o tema “Morir En Tu Boca”. Não conhecia a banda mas gostei do que vi (e ouvi), coletivo jovem com qualidade técnica e à-vontade para poderem singrar na cena. Quem também tem novo trabalho (neste caso o segundo) são os Prima Nocte, que já tivemos o prazer de ouvir em estreia absoluta em Portugal no Metalpoint, no passado dia 12 de Outubro. Com claro destaque para “Oniric” (do qual apenas não tocaram as faixas introdutória e final), revisitaram também o trabalho de estreia “Angel Of Sins” de onde apenas deixaram de lado as faixas introdutória e homónima. À semelhança de Xeria tivemos direito a um dueto com Pilar e Iván López (Atreides) no tema “The Chase”. Garra, entrega e muita qualidade na execução são características que podemos esperar ver nos concertos dos Prima Nocte. O ponto alto da noite era mesmo a atuação dos Mind Driller. Há algum tempo tive o prazer de escutar e analisar o mais recente álbum (ler opinião aqui) e desde essa altura tive curiosidade em ver como funcionava ao vivo. Da primeira à última música as minhas expectativas não foram defraudadas fruto de uma atuação enérgica e bastante animada. Com claro destaque para o novo “Involution” (de onde apenas faltaram tocar “Kianda”, “Involution” e “The Glass House”), incluíram 3 temas de “Zirkus” (“Psycho”, “Escape” e “Ich Bin Anders!”), outro trabalho que funciona muito bem ao vivo pela forte componente electrónica e cénica. Este último pormenor é igualmente importante pois permite uma maior diversidade temática e maior interação com o público pelo facto de a banda usar muitos apetrechos. A fechar a setlist o tema “My Own Law”, retirado do álbum de estreia “Red Industrial”.
Este nosso regresso a Vigo levou-nos a conhecer uns Xeria que podem crescer muito na cena local (e não só), a rever os Prima Nocte, excelentes músicos que têm um grande cartão-de-visita em “Oniric” e nossos mais recentes amigos, e nos deu a possibilidade de podermos assistir ao vivo à força dos Mind Driller, sem dúvida uma referência no industrial contemporâneo com capacidade de aspirar a vôos mais altos. Para além dos agradecimentos iniciais, uma palavra de agradecimento à sala (muito boa) e um obrigado especial ao Juan. Até uma próxima!

Mind Driller’s tour for the promotion of "Involution" passed this Saturday through Master Club (Vigo) and counted with the company of Xeria and Prima Nocte. Metal In Portugal was invited to appear (we henceforth thank Mantícora Producciones for the invitation in advance) so I leave you here my appreciation of the event.
The night kicked off to the sound of Xeria, symphonic metal band that released their debut album “Tierra” this Summer. Clear opportunity to show it to the Viguense public, took advantage for a duet between Marina Sweet and Icko Viqueira (Aquelarre) with the theme “Morir En Tu Boca”. I did not knew the band but I liked what I saw (and heard), young collective with technical quality and ease to be able to be successful in the scene. Who also has new work (in this case the sophomore) are Prima Nocte, which we had the pleasure of hearing in absolute debut in Portugal at Metalpoint, on October 12th. With clear emphasis on “Oniric” (from which only the introductory and final tracks weren’t played), they also revisited the debut work “Angel Of Sins” from where only the introductory and homonymous tracks were kept aside. Like Xeria we were entitled to a duet with Pilar and Iván López (Atreides) on the theme “The Chase”. Tenacity, delivery and great performance are features we can expect to see at Prima Nocte concerts. The highlight of the night was Mind Driller’s performance. For some time I had the pleasure of listening and analyzing their latest album (read opinion here) and since then I was curious to see how it worked live. From the first to the last song my expectations were not defrauded as a result of an energetic and very lively performance. With clear emphasis on the new “Involution” (which only were left to play “Kianda”, “Involution” and “The Glass House”), they included 3 themes from “Zirkus” (“Psycho”, “Escape” and “Ich Bin Anders!”), another album that works very well live due to the strong electronic and scenic component. This last detail is equally important as it allows for greater thematic diversity and greater interaction with the audience because the band uses a lot of gadgets. Closing the set list is the theme song “My Own Law” from the debut album “Red Industrial”.
Our return to Vigo led us to meet some Xeria who can grow a lot in the local scene (and not only), to see again Prima Nocte, great musicians who have a great business card on “Oniric” and our most recent friends, and gave us the chance to watch live Mind Driller’s force, undoubtedly a reference in contemporary industrial capable of aspiring for higher flights.
