Secret Rule Release "Quarantine - The Other Side Of Us"

Após terem lançado “Against” no passado mês de Fevereiro, os Italianos Secret Rule lançaram hoje novo álbum dedicado ao período de quarentena. Com a enorme receptividade que obtiveram após o lançamento dos vídeos para os temas “Gets Me Through” de Ozzy Osbourne e “The Bitter End” dos Placebo, foram desafiados pela comunidade de fãs a lançarem um trabalho só de covers. Pois o desafio foi aceite e o resultado está aqui em “Quarantine: The Other Side of Us”, trabalho que conta com 11 covers onde se incluem as acima referidas. O álbum foi todo planeado, masterizado e gravado em 2 semanas no Digitall Studio, aproveitando o confinamento obrigatório; foram ainda convidados 2 músicos: Nicola Corrente (voz masculina em “Look What You Make Me Do”) e Roberto Deblasio (voz grunhida em “War Eternal”). Este trabalho para já apenas está disponível em formato digital na página oficial da banda (https://bit.ly/secretrulestore).

After having released “Against” last February, the Italian band Secret Rule released today a new album dedicated to the quarantine period. With the enormous receptivity they obtained after the release of the videos for the themes "Gets Me Through" by Ozzy Osbourne and "The Bitter End" by Placebo, they were challenged by the fan community to release a cover-only work. Well, the challenge was accepted and the result is here in “Quarantine: The Other Side of Us”, a work that has 11 covers including the ones mentioned above. The album was all planned, mastered and recorded in 2 weeks at Digitall Studio, taking advantage of the mandatory confinement; 2 musicians were also invited: Nicola Corrente (male voice in “Look What You Make Me Do”) and Roberto Deblasio (growling voice in “War Eternal”). This work for now is only available in digital format on the band's official page (https://bit.ly/secretrulestore).

Estamos a chegar ao final de mais um ano, altura das habituais resoluções de Ano Novo e balanço do que está a terminar. A verdade é que não somos muito dados a isso mas este 2019 que está prestes a terminar teve algumas marcas que achamos por bem destacar. Começamos pelo nosso evento “Iberian Rock Fest” cuja 1ª edição permitiu a bandas nacionais se estrearem em Espanha, dessa forma alargando a sua base de seguidores. Nesse evento tivemos o prazer de ter connosco uma das melhores bandas do panorama musical nacional, Blame Zeus; como se isso não bastasse terminamos o ano com nova deslocação a Espanha para mais 2 datas com eles. Este ano que termina marca também a estreia da Metal Em Portugal no management de bandas com os The Fuzz Dogz. Isso tem dado frutos tanto a nível interno como lá fora e para o próximo ano há uma expectativa elevada; novos contactos têm sido feitos e a seu tempo serão divulgadas novidades.

Para 2020 vamos tentar fazer a 2ª edição do “Iberian Rock Fest”, desta vez em solo nacional. É com muito orgulho que somos contactados por bandas nacionais e estrangeiras ansiosas por participarem, o que demonstra que o trabalho feito está a ser notado e bem recebido. Infelizmente, sem apoios (nomeadamente financeiros) torna-se difícil por isso estamos a ponderar bem como e quando o fazer, pois não queremos defraudar ninguém. Existem igualmente planos para novas deslocações a Espanha, sempre dependentes do fantasma financeiro, mas a verdade é que temos até agora conseguido fazer as coisas sem apoios por isso estamos confiantes que vai ser possível. Ainda não foi este ano que fizemos o nosso tão desejado merchandising, esse é um desejo de há muito que, lá está, não avança pelos motivos já citados. A ver se é desta...

Não há bela sem senão e o facto de isto ser gerido por apenas 1 pessoa faz com muito fique ainda por fazer. Pedimos desculpas às editoras e bandas que diariamente nos submetem os seus trabalhos para análise, o tempo infelizmente é curto para poder atender a todos. Por outro lado agradecemos o apoio constante que recebemos de amigos/conhecidos/seguidores; isto soa a cliché mas a verdade é que sem vocês nada disto era possível. Agradecemos também a todas as bandas/músicos com quem trocamos experiências e contactos ao longo deste ano e que nos permitem pensar num futuro risonho para a cena; aqui não somos apologistas de reclamar mas antes sugerir, tentamos não desanimar ao assumirmos uma postura proactiva que se reflete nas nossas ações, pois acreditamos que é preferível tentar e falhar do que nada fazer. É essa certeza que deixamos a todos, a de tudo fazermos o que estiver ao nosso alcance para que as coisas rumem a bom porto.

Desejámos a todos um 2020 cheio de muita e boa música; nós vemo-nos por aí.

We are nearing the end of another year, the time for the usual New Year's resolutions and the balance of the one that’s ending. The truth is that we are not much given to this but this 2019 that is about to end had some marks that we thought it well worth highlighting. We started with our “Iberian Rock Fest” event whose 1st edition allowed national bands to debut in Spain, thus widening their following. At this event we had the pleasure of having with us one of the best bands in the national music scene, Blame Zeus; as if that were not enough we ended the year with a new trip to Spain for 2 more dates with them. This year ending also marks the debut of Metal Em Portugal in band management with The Fuzz Dogz. This has paid off both internally and abroad, and for the coming year there is a high expectation; new contacts have been made and in time news will be released.

For 2020 we will try to make the 2nd edition of “Iberian Rock Fest”, this time on national soil. It is with great pride that we are contacted by national and foreign bands eager to participate, which shows that the work done is being noticed and well received. Unfortunately, without support (particularly financial) it is difficult so we are considering how and when to do so, as we do not want to defraud anyone. There are also plans for new trips to Spain, always dependent on the financial phantom, but the truth is that we have so far managed to do things without support so we are confident it will be possible. It has not been this year that we have made our much desired merchandising, this is a long wish that, there, does not advance for the reasons already mentioned. Let’s see if we can make it this time…

However every silver lining has a cloud and the fact that this is managed by only 1 person leaves still a lot to be done. We apologize to the publishers and bands that daily submit their work to us for analysis, the time is unfortunately short to be able to serve everyone. On the other hand we appreciate the constant support we have received from friends/acquaintances/followers; this sounds cliché but the truth is that without you none of this would be possible. We also thank all the bands/musicians with whom we have exchanged experiences and contacts throughout this year and allow us to think of a brighter future for the scene; here we are not apologists to complain but rather suggest, we try not to be discouraged by taking a proactive stance that is reflected in our actions, as we believe it is better to try and fail than to do nothing. It is this certainty that we leave everyone, to do everything we can to make things reach fruition.
