Tragul - "My Last Words" Lyric Video

Emerging Chaos - The Roots Of Lunacy

There comes the time in life when bands have to choose whether to release next. That question presented to Emerging Chaos, Barreiro’s death/thrash metal band, while preparing the successor for the EP “The Decay of Mankind”. In good time they’ve chosen an LP thus creating a record that it’s a good example of what their sound is.

I had the opportunity the see the band live last year at Lord Metal Fest and I got a good impression. We can describe their sonority as being mainly death/thrash with a more melodic approach but nevertheless less aggressive; in fact, regarding that subject Jim Gäddnäs’ screamed voice is very distinctive, keeping the musics in a consistent cadence throughout the entire album. With a total of 9 tracks, “The Roots Of Lunacy” keeps a cohesive musical linearity yet non repetitive, with lyrics focusing on social illusions and their consequences; due to the vaste versatility and coverage of the topic (and as a result of band members diverse influences), Emerging Chaos add to the above mentioned musical base well structured riffs, some old school thrash passages or others more dense and mysterious. “The Roots Of Lunacy” is a well achieved debut album, well balanced and with harmony.

Laurus Nobilis 2018 Press Conference

Today took place Laurus Nobilis Music Fest press conference, thus giving the official start to another edition of this festival.

Like on the previous years the general presentation and further informations was in charge of Pedro Moniz (you can check all the info here). On this year edition the organization focuses more in alternatives sonorities within the spectre of rock and metal because this target audience has been the one with greater representation since first edition. Other news is the addition of a third stage (“Do Your Own Scene”) were emerging projects from various cultural areas can reveal themselves. As Aguiar Silva stated, nearly 70% of the offers we can find there are of free access, like the above mentioned stage and “Estrella Galicia” Stage, recreation areas, catering and camping, being only the “Porminho” Stage (main) the only one with entrance fee and thus making Laurus Nobilis a culturally diverse and low cost gathering point for those going there. The musical production and band management this year will be in charge of André Matos (Raising Legends) while António Freitas (Antena 3) will keep being in charge of after hours entertainment also combining the place of event’s Ambassador. Attending was also Town Councilor Leonel Rocha representing VN Famalicão town house, being able through his words to perceive that the council will continue to support the event as well as betting more on other cultural activities. Ending the press conference, and after a short session of questions, time to listen to some Tralhas Melódicas; if you don’t know what it is, be sure to attend Laurus to find out. You’re the one missing!

Nebelhorn - Urgewalt

[ENG] "Nebelhorn always sangs about events viking related and their mythology. “Urgewalt” is not a conceptual album but follows that line with an alignment structured in a timeline that makes it possible to tell any story that, although it starts in a commotion and hectic, has an happy ending."

Metalwings - For All Beyond

[ENG] "Metalwings’ greatest work lies in the way they structure the compositions; picking in the essence of symphonic music they added characteristics from the several rock/metal melodic subgenres, yet without pushing to much for one side nor the other."
